“ Lovely little no-frills restaurant with amazing food and great staff, especially (Sachin)I guarantee that if we lived closer, we would be visiting there regularly. ”
“ absolutely lovely. an amazing experience. the food was on point, full of flavour and well presented and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. we will be back and thank you ”
“ We had a great meal last night, the staff were brilliant too! The starters were slightly different to your usual Indian menu and the popadom dips were delicious. Everything we ordered was really tasty, just the right portion size and main course was one of the best I’ve tried. It was a chef special but can’t remember the name. My only criticism is the restaurant was really cold. But don’t let that put you off trying this great hidden gem. ”
“ The Spice Merchant in Market Deeping offers a delightful culinary journey, masterfully balancing traditional flavors with contemporary presentation. Each dish showcased a thoughtful use of spices, enhancing rather than overpowering the fresh ingredients. The service was attentive yet unobtrusive, contributing to an atmosphere of relaxed sophistication. The attention to detail—from the nuanced layers of flavor to the perfectly timed pacing of courses—demonstrates a kitchen that truly understands its craft. A hidden gem that invites both discovery and return visits, The Spice Merchant is a worthy destination for those seeking a memorable dining experience. ”
“ Absolutely outstanding. Service was polite, honest and friendly. Was made feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was delicious, fresh and very well presented. They had to cater for 2 people with completely different tastes and did so perfectly. The recommendations where exactly as described. Which was nice for a food establishment to know their menu for once. Restaurant was clean, the glasses and cutlery polished on every table. This is a hidden jem, 5 Star experience would recommend to everyone! ”
“ We are reasonably regular customers of the spice Merchant either having take-aways, or occasionally eating in the restaurant, sometimes with friends. We have to say our recent visit was one of the best Nepalese (or Indian sub-continent) meals we’ve ever had. In fact, we sat discussing the best and worst meals we’ve had in many locations around the world. So, high praise indeed. The food here is consistently good and the chef obviously highly-skilled. The service was friendly, informative and polite. We did not have any undue wait for our food. Although we have favourites, it is not really up to us to recommend any particular dishes, but you’ll find the menu extensive and the guidance on what to select helpful, if you ask. Two rather minor grumbles would be that the interior could do with brightening up a little with a coat of paint and there was a rude group of about 10, two table away, celebrating Mother’s Day. They were so loud as to prevent our conversation several times. It is naturally hard for the management to say very much in such circumstances for fear of giving offence. Please remember though, if you are eating out, not to be rowdy and intrusive to others also trying to enjoy themselves. ”
